Two things FIRST: This post is not about the 1993 smash hit and overall masterpiece ‘Jurassic Park’. SECOND: I always thought it was ‘Datsun! We’ve got Datsun here!’ or even ‘Dachshund! We’ve got Dachshund here! ‘but I looked it up and it turns out it’s Dodgson. Bananas! What it’s about is not caring and here’s what I don’t care about.
I don’t think that anyone has probably ever wikipedia-ed that candy Riesens. Here’s my thinking: mostly only old people like them, and mostly old people are not aware of Wikipedia. Even the ones who are have probably eaten enough Riesens in their long long lives to not need to know anything else about them. But here’s the thing, I don’t think anybody cares about this. Here’s another thing, I think that’s fine.
When we start worrying about Riesens having, maybe, feelings? Bad dice. Note: I couldn’t decide whether to say ‘no dice’ or bad news, so I compromised and went with bad dice. I think it’s stupid but I also sort of think it’s just great so I’m going to LET IT RIDE.
You might also think nobody’s wikied Gene Shalit, but you’d be dead wrong. Some buddies and I used to do that like all the time.

I also love Riesen to an extent well beyond normal. And while I agree that members of younger generations lack a true appreciation for this wonderful treat, “old people” who love Riesen typically enjoyed this food of the gods in their youth and now lack the periodontal fortitude to indulge in its thick caramel chocolatey goodness.
